Aisha Jamila Hinds is an American actress best known for her roles in the television shows The Shield and True Blood. Since her debut in 2003, she has shown her acting versatility by providing outstanding performances on television series like 9-1-1 Detroit 1--8-7 and Under the Dome. The first time she was noticed was for her role as Anna in 2005's film Assault on Precinct 13. However it was her role as women's rights campaigner Fannie Lou Hamer on the film biographical All the Way that finally earned her acclaim as an actor. Hind was also recognized for her portrayal of Harriet Tubman in WGN America's time-travel show, the drama Underground. She currently stars on the procedural drama series 9-1-1 in the leading role of firefighter/paramedic Henrietta Hen Wilson. 20th Century Fox Television announced that 9-1-1 will continue for an additional season. Hind finished filming in the last few days in the Hollywood film Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The film is scheduled to release in the middle of 2019.
